"It is very important to know who you are. To make decisions. To show who you are."

-Malala Yousafzai

Bengali. Guyanese. American. Muslim. These are just a few of the many terms that can be used to describe my multifaceted identity. These past years at the University of Florida has taught me a lot about myself. Among the most important of these lessons, I learned that I am a passionate individual and a life-long learner. My experience, curiosity and diverse upbringing has led me to become interested in a variety of social justice issues, including, feminism, environmentalism, and police brutality.
As you can tell from the quotes I selected, Malala Yousafzai is my greatest inspiration. She is brave, intelligent, strong, and the leader I one day hope to become. When I am not thinking about what I can do to help create a more just society, you can find me chilling in the hammock outside our home drinking coconut water with my family or drawing in my room with colored pencils spread across the floor.
